There are Boxes to Open!

My family will tell you that one of my favorite things is to get something special in the mail. I am the first to want to open the letters and packages. When we return home from vacation, I look for the mail that we received while we were gone, and open it :). So, you can imagine that I look forward to Tuesday mornings. It feels like my Birthday! I know, so silly…but true. I am the same way about giving gifts. I am not the one who can shop early and be prepared because once I have your gift, I want YOU to have it too! Well, I digress…This Tuesday’s box from Farm Fresh to You didn’t disappoint! It has arrived and everything looks so fresh and yummy!

Here is this weeks contents:

1.5 Lb Livingston Sweet Potato
1 bunch Green Chard
1 lb Yellow Onions
1 bunch Radish
1 bulb Garlic
1 pint Shishito Peppers
2 heads Butter Lettuce
1 bunch Broccoli
2 lb Roma Tomatoes
2 bunches Carrots
2 bunches Celery
1 lb Green Beans
4 Fuji Apples
4 Seckel Pears
2 Valencia Oranges
2 Keitt Mango
1 pint Strawberries

Here it is all prepared:

The sweet potatoes are missing in this photo, because they are in the oven baking, and the green chard because it is drying on the counter. Once it dries I will chop it for future use. Also, the pears and one of the apples and the mangoes are in the fruit bowl on the counter.

My challenges this week are the Shishido Peppers (there is a whole pint!) and the Seckel Pears. The pears are really only challenging because they are really small and not ripe. Maybe they will make it until next week. Also, for some reason, the sheer volume of produce is a little overwhelming this week. This is likely because I am on the tail end of using some of last week’s little additions. Please share any ideas you may have! Blessings!
