It is the season for Christmas music and I am SO grateful! I am one of those people who could listen to Christmas music all year long. I don’t…but I could. I do try to wait until a nearly socially acceptable time to enjoy it. 🙂
Because we are so familiar with these seasonal songs, it is easy to miss the meaning behind their profound words.
One of my favorite Christmas songs is O Come all Ye Faithful. Look at these words:
O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God’s holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
The words are SO rich with truths about our precious Lord. Look at verse three…He is called LORD, His birth is proclaimed, we are reminded to adore His name and it proclaims the truth that Jesus is God the Father in the flesh. The chorus, “O come, let us adore Him” becomes such a full expression of worship when we consider again what is written.
I pray that these truths encourage your heart today as they have mine. Jesus has been born!! And, He is our LORD and Savior!! O come, let us adore Him!
Blessings!
This is my favorite too!
