Today I am thankful for flexible schedules. School has been a bit arduous lately. We have been getting through it, but not without conflict and extended hours of work due to wandering minds. My husband and I were discussing this last night and had a big “aha moment”. I can rearrange our schedule! I don’t have to do the same thing at the same time every day. Maybe it is time to “mix it up” a bit!
So, today we woke up and got ready for the day and started school as usual. Then, we headed for a field trip to the Farmer’s Market!
What could be better for Home Economics than a trip to the Farmer’s Market? And, what could be better for the baby than fresh air? We all strolled, and sampled, and purchased and planned all out in the fresh air. Then, we headed home for Produce Prep Tuesday. While my daughter engaged in the rest of her school day, I cleaned and peeled and chopped veggies for this week’s meals. We also planted 4 more herb plants to add to our collection. After all, why not pay $1.25 for a small plant that will grow to supply us for months/years to come instead of buying cut herbs. 🙂
So, today I am thankful for a flexible schedule that allows me to “mix it up” a bit. Minds have been more focused this afternoon, and even Algebra II was completed with smiles on our faces. It seems that this flexibility has had a calming effect on our home! I think I could get used to this! 🙂
Blessings!
