Too Many Plums!

Have you ever had too many of something just hanging around in your kitchen? In my case, right now, it is plums. This is another item that comes each week and while we really do like them, we just haven’t been able to keep up. So, they just hang out in our fruit bowl. Thankfully they do stay fresh for quite sometime. There were about 15 small plums in my bowl and today, I set out to use the bulk of them.

This time I decided to research recipes on the internet and found something that looks great! I found a recipe for Lemon Plum Sorbet on the Taste of Home website. It is in the freezer now, and promises to taste great. It was on the sweet side before freezing, so I did add an additional 1/4 cup of lemon juice. In the future, would like to try this again and add mint at the simple syrup stage to infuse the flavor of mint into the sorbet. Overall, this was not a difficult recipe and was worth making. Have you found any favorite fresh fruit sorbet recipes that you enjoy?

I have done this with a huge bucket of Concord grapes. It is a great way to use up a lot of fruit.
