Mary Did You Know?

This is a profound song. Do you ever wonder what it would have been like to be pregnant with the Son of God? How about raising Him as He grew to adulthood? Profound! The child that she delivered “will soon deliver you”. Amazing! The second stanza proclaims Jesus’ deity. “When you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.” Again, amazing.

My words cannot explain these words any better than they do themselves.

So, read ahead:

Mary did you know that your baby boy would some day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you’ve delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when your kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.

Oh Mary did you know

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven’s perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you’re holding is the great I am

Watch here as this wonderful song is sung by Jubliant Sykes. I have heard him sing it many times and it is always impactful and just how this song should be sung.

Blessings!
