The Alley of Apple Awesomeness

How is that for a silly title? I had to try and top yesterday’s title…”The Perfect Parade of Pumpkin Possibilities…” Not sure I quite made it. 🙂

This morning, as I was sitting here enjoying reading some of my favorite blogs, I realized that I have bypassed other favorite fall treat…the apple. In light of so many different ways to use the brighter, shinier pumpkin, I overlooked the humble apple. Even though it is available all year around, it shines its brightest in the fall, when all of the varieties are at their peak. So, in an effort to pay homage to the apple, which is still one of my top fruits, I am going to post a list of my favorite apple recipes…those that are mine, and from blogs I follow, as well as those I have found while poking around on Pinterest that I hope to try.

1. Mom’s applesauce. Earlier this fall I posted this recipe in honor of my mom. It still remains one of my favorite ways to eat apples. Hope you will try it sometime soon! You won’t regret it! There is a freshness and full apple flavor that you get when you make it at home. The jar from the store will never fill its shoes. 🙂

2. Apple Butter…I have always wanted to make this and have not done so yet. This year may be the year! Lookout Christmas Gifts! I found a great tutorial at “Food In Jars” and can’t wait to try it!

3. How about Individual Apple Crumbles…you can try my recipe right here. These were served with a bit of vanilla ice cream on top and were yummy!

4. Apple Butter Maple Syrup Donuts from Gluten Free Canteen sound marvelous! Again…what a way to wake up! 🙂

5. Apple Pancake Strussel Bars…YUM! Visit The Kitchn for this fabulous recipe…and, they look so cute and inviting in those little bags!

6. Apple Cinnamon Cake…Visit Frugal Feeding for this delicious looking cake! I think this one should be higher on the list! 🙂

7. These Apple Oatmeal Crumble Bars from My Daily Morsel look like a wonderful Fall Snack. Thank you “My Daily Morsel” for this wonderful recipe!

8. I am going to round out the list with “Can’t Stay Out of the Kitchen’s” Caramel Apple Cake with Apple Cider Frosting. This cake is sure to be a hit for any fall occasion. Take a look at this beauty!

This list should help you get that “apple a day” that wise doctor’s recommend. 🙂

Blessings!
