Individual Cherry Cola Triffles

Individual Cherry Cola Triffles by My Life As Robin's Wife

Today I am bringing my Individual Cherry Cola Triffles to the party…and to the challenge. I am happy to be participating in The Lady Behind the Curtain’s Dessert Challenge for the month of February. The ingredients given to us for this month’s challenge were cherry and cola. This was a hard combo for me, but that is the point, right! I am thrilled with the results! My daughter and I really enjoyed this dessert and so will you if you enjoy cherry and cola…with chocolate too!

The most fun part of this recipe for me was reducing the cola down to a syrup. We simmered two bottles on medium low until it became syrup. And, it tastes just like cola when done…just really, really strong. My daughter said she would like to try it on pancakes! We reduced 2 bottles down to about 1/3 cup as pictured here.

The cherry flavor comes from all natural Cherry Preserves and dark chocolate covered cherries. I also added a bit of cherry juice to the sweetened whipped cream to give it a little more flavor and a light pink color.
