Citrus and Oregano Marinated Berry Salad

Citrus and Oregano Marinated Berry Salad On Monday afternoon I was looking for a fresh and light side dish to go with the Chicken Chili I was serving. We already had some tortilla chips and guacamole on the side, so this called for some fruit. With strawberries and blackberries in the fridge I was on my way to the side dish I was thinking of. I didn’t want to add any refined sugar, but I did want to get the juices going in those berries. So, here is what I did:

Take 1 lb of strawberries and 1 cup of blackberries and place them in a medium bowl. Add the juice and zest of 1 lemon and 1 orange. Add in a small amount of fresh oregano. Mix together and allow to marinate for 30 minutes and serve in small bowls that will be able to hold some of the juice with the fruit. This fruit salad is not only beautiful, it is refreshing too! Hope you enjoy!

Blessings!

About Diane Marie Haller

I am a grateful wife and mother who loves the Lord my God, my husband, my children, and creating a home that we are sorry to leave and can't wait to come home to. Visit often to read the stories of this love-filled life of dorm rooms, diapers, and everything in between. I find joy in the creativity that the Lord gives to bring all of these stages of life together into a family that loves Him and desires to know Him better and serve Him with our everyday, normal lives. Tune in for stories, recipes and life lessons, all mixed with a bit of humor. I would be honored and blessed if you would stay awhile and share a bit of your lives too! Blessings!
