Sausage and Sage Thanksgiving Stuffing

Time to make our thanksgiving stuffing! This year we will be celebrating at my brother and sister-in-law’s home. We are really looking forward to being together! Our family will be bringing the stuffing. This recipe makes a stuffing that is flavorful and near the middle of the road when it comes to how moist it is. It stays away from mushy stuffing, yet isn’t dry and separate…here is how I made it:

Ingredients:

1 lb Sausage
2 boxes Mrs. Cubbison’s Herb Stuffing Mix
3 Tablespoons Sage
1 large Onion, chopped
2 large Gala Apples, Chopped
1 large Granny Smith Apple, Chopped
2 Stalks Celery, Chopped
4 cups Fresh Chicken Stock
1 stick of Butter

Instructions:

Begin browning your sausage.

Then, add in your chopped veggies and fruit.

Add in your sage, stir, and continue browning.

Add in your broth and stir gently until all is evenly moist. Then, top with 1 stick of butter which is cut into small pieces and gently stir as it melts into the stuffing.

Bake at 325 degrees, covered for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes and serve. This recipe will serve 15-20 people, depending on how many other side dishes are present. 🙂

Enjoy! Blessings!
